Endemic to the Northern Cape of South Africa, specifically in Kendrew which is a small region of the Great Kanroo. These globule succulents grow in full sun in arid, rocky and hilly environments. Temperatures during the summer reach a maximum of 79F and a minimum of 52F, with very little rainfall all year (7-11 inches/year). Found at an elevation of 300-900 meters above sea level, they can be found growing amongst rocky hills and sandy soils. Often found under low shrubs, their distinct colors make them well-adapted to their surroundings, making them hard to spot. This Euphorbia species is unisex and has grayish, green cyanthia which are either all male or all female. Cross pollination between plants in necessary to produce seed; which is often done by insects in nature. The delicately scented flowers are 3 mm in diameter.
